The focal area consists of six sub-projects. Five of them adress the biological quality elements currently used to assess the ecological status of lakes and streams. The sixth sub-project, the gradient study, is a joint venture where all sub-projects participate to validate the response of different metrics to eutrophication, hyromorphological changes and forestry.
